A Morning at Cobblestone Farms

On the last hot morning of summer we drove to Fayetteville to tour a farm I’ve been curious about for years. Cobblestone is all organic, right in town, and working to provide all kinds of cool things for the community—definitely the type of place I want my children to explore. I was pretty excited, but oh my! The managers here totally exceeded my expectations. Shortly into our visit, I asked, “So do you all have lots of little kids come through here?” because they seemed like old pros with our three year olds. I was shocked when they said, “Nope!” What a hidden gem in terms of a beautiful hands-on place to spend a couple of hours with our young children! They said they are always open for new volunteers. My oldest daughter and her best friend got to help plant seeds, water, pick radishes, wash them, make flower bouquets, and pick out a pumpkin each.

They took their work seriously, and it was lovely to watch. Children are much more capable than we give them credit for. <3

Thank you for such a wonderful morning, Cobblestone Farms! We will be back!
