Does anyone else find our Easter traditions just super strange? Daniel and I haven't completely decided how much of it we plan to really implement when it comes to our kids. A giant bunny hides eggs and brings you a basket full of goodies in the middle of the night? Just...weird. Why didn't I question this more as a child?
For now I'll use it as an excuse to practice my love language--gift giving. I'll admit that I already gave the box of crayons and blanket to Edie a couple of weeks ago. I am TERRIBLE at keeping presents until the actual holiday/birthday. Daniel referred to it as a "cute character flaw" the other day. I appreciated hearing that, because I really do annoy myself with how excited I get when it comes to gifting. Pretty sure I start asking him, "Do you want your present now?" a good six weeks before his birthday every year.
But Edie needed new crayons (so she could color the floor and walls, obviously) and the blanket reminded me SO MUCH of the pink thermal "blankie" I dragged everywhere at her age--I couldn't help myself.
Wishing you and your family a beautiful weekend! Easter bunny or no Easter bunny, Jesus is risen!
